Horn-ups for the 2026-2027 School Year, Bison Families!

On behalf of the entire South High School staff, we are excited to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year! We look forward to partnering with an incredible Bison Community to provide students with opportunities that will prepare them for graduation AS ONE-HERD!

Please use the calendar of events to start your school year off BisonStrong!

August 17th Fall Sports: Volleyball, Girls Swim, Cross Country
August 11th: Freshmen Registration Night 5 PM to 7 PM
August 12th-13th: School Registration and Schedule Pick-up 8 AM to 4 PM
August 23rd: We Got Your Back
August 24th: Senior Sunrise on the Football Field (sunrise @6:18am) 5:45 AM to 6:30 AM
August 24th: First Day of School 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM
August 26th: Open House (Meet teachers, buy swag, sign up for clubs) 5 PM to 7 PM

South High School announces registration dates for 2026-2027: Freshmen on August 11th, 5-7 PM; other grades August 12-13th, 7 AM-4 PM.

Freshmen Registration and Schedule Pick-up Night: August 11, from 5 to 7 pm.

This night is just for Freshmen! We want to give families a private night to explore our campus, learn expectations, and take your time to get all your questions answered.

Here is everything your freshman can knock out during their session:

Pick up your schedule! Students will need their parent present to make any changes.
School Photos and ID cards.
Pick out a locker!
Sign up for clubs, activities, and athletic teams.
Pick up your iPad
Walk your schedule. Take time to walk your schedule before the first day of school, so you never get lost on day one.
Registration fees.

This night will start in the auditorium to review high school expectations. Please have your address verification with you to help your registration process go smoothly.

Note: If you can not make this night, do not worry. Attend the upperclassman schedule pick-up days.

Upperclassman Schedule Pick-up: August 12th and 13th from 7am to 4pm

Upperclassman can pick up their schedules, take school photos, pick up their iPads, and personalize their schedule with a parent present. Reminder to have your address verification at the door.

Seniors: if you want to purchase a parking spot, come early. These spots are first come, first served. Talk to Student Council for more information.

Schedule Pick-UP Tips

All Students

All students must have 8 classes. (Seniors are allowed 1 off hour if on track for graduation)
Check for 4 core classes: Math, English, Science, Social Studies.
Check that you have 1 or 2 electives you are passionate about.

Required 9th Grade Class: Discovering Pathways or AVID 9.

All Freshmen are required to take a Discovering Pathways or AVID 9 course in their 9th grade year. These courses offer support in developing a high school course pathway selection for the remainder of high school, organization and study skills, and developing overall good habits that all students need to be successful in high school.

Open House, August 26 from 5 to 7pm:

Attend an open house to meet your students' teachers, build a direct line of communication with educators, and show your students they have a strong support team behind them from day one.
