South wants to celebrate the 31 SHS students (most ever by a lot!) who participated in the State Math Contest at Storey Gym
Not only did we shatter our participation number, but we also brought home our first ever 1st Place trophy in the Grade 9/10 team competition category, besting teams from East, Central, Poder Academy and LCSD2
Grade 10 students Eli Greenlee (5th place), Ross Ten Eyck (10th place), and Aaron Walker (4th place) in the individual exams, along with the team of Neal Hushbeck and Aaron Walker (1st Place) in the group exam combined to give SHS first place overall
We also had one student - Ruben Bacio - finish 10th in the Grade 11/12 individual exam competition. Though we only had one top 10 finisher this year in Grade 11/12, we had a number of other students finish in the top 20 out of 75 students competing in that category.
Bison Broadcasting attended the Student Television Network (STN) competition in Long Beach, CA from March 13-17 this year. The Bison Broadcasting STN team would like to say a HUGE thank you to our school and sponsors this year. Their charitable gifts made this experience possible for our students and we are very grateful for the support. At the competition, the students completed a documentary, short film, vlog, silent film, and man-on-the-street new piece.
Here is a video discussing a little bit of what the students did at the competition.
