At South High School, our core values are summed up in the acronym
HERD: Honorable, Enthusiastic, Responsible, and Determined. This isn't just a motto; it's the foundation of everything we do, including our commitment to student success. We believe that by working together as "One Herd" and "One Family," we can ensure every student at South High School thrives as "ONE COMMUNITY"!
South High School is an innovative, student-centered community dedicated to preparing students for college, military, and career readiness, setting them up for a lifetime of success. We believe our mission extends beyond academics to include the development of social/emotional skills and pathways beyond high school.
Our goal is for all students to develop HERD behaviors that promote healthy social and emotional well-being and mindsets, such as resilience, social awareness, and a sense of belonging, which support a student's academic achievement and overall well-being.
Parents play a key role in building strong families and strong Bison Students. Parents can help their students by focusing on key areas, such as attendance, behavior, grades, and communication. We encourage families to work with us by aligning home and school expectations to build a strong foundation for our students' success.
